The pattern isn't changing. Younger Mississippians are continuing to drive the increase in coronavirus cases in Mississippi. With 1505 new cases reported Wednesday, the statewide total is closing in on 56,000. And 47 per cent of those cases involve people younger than 40 with more than 12,000 in the 18-29 age group. Even though younger people account for almost half of the total cases, they represent only two per cent of the state's coronavirus deaths.
