Gov. Reeves today named former Louisiana State Penitentiary warden Burl Cain as Mississippi's new corrections commissioner. And he announced that Appeals Court judge Sean Tindell will serve as commissioner of the Department of Public Safety. Cain spent 21 years overseeing the prison at Angola. Tindell has no law enforcement experience but has served as a prosecutor. Reeves also announced he's signing the coronavirus relief bill the legislature passed to provide direct payments to small businesses and the opportunity for those companies to apply for grants to help them get back on their feet.
