Gov. Reeves says if Congress wants Americans to receive an additional $400 in weekly unemployment benefits, it needs to fund those payments at a 100 per cent level. President Trump announced over the weekend that states would have to cover 25 per cent of the added costs. Reeves says that would amount to up to $23 million a week in Mississippi and he's concerned it would put undue stress on the state's unemployment trust fund. The governor says he hasn't made a decision on whether Mississippi will offer the higher benefits.
