Governor Warns That More Power Outages "Likely"

Governor Reeves says ice accumulation from the winter storm across Mississippi will likely cause more power outages. During a Facebook Live broadcast from the Governor's Mansion Wednesday afternoon, Reeves said about 18,000 customers were without electricity but said the number could grow as freezing rain causes power lines to fall. He called it "unusual" that all of the state was facing some sort of weather problem -- from ice and snow across much of Mississippi to the threat of severe storms on the coast. And on COVID-19, Reeves said some first-dose vaccination appointments were still available as of Wednesday-- those shots to be offered during the first two weeks of March.
