Governor Says Mississippians 50+ May Be Eligible For Vaccine Soon

With thousands of vaccination appointments still available in Mississippi, Governor Reeves says people 50 and older may be eligible for the shots "very soon". Teachers and first responders who didn't qualify under earlier priorities began receiving the vaccine this week and the Health Department had been hesitant to say which group might be next in line. But Wednesday, as he urged eligible Mississippians to book appointments for themselves and their loved ones, Reeves said if the current vaccination pace holds, eligibility could be expanded next to those 50+.
