Even though the significant tornado outbreak that was predicted in Mississippi last week fizzled out, the National Weather Service is urging the public to be prepared for a different outcome on Thursday. Forecasters again are calling for the possibility of strong, long-tracked tornadoes. Last Wednesday, Mississippi saw seven tornadoes, but most were weak and short-lived. The Weather Service says some of the storm parameters for Thursday are stronger than last week. And it's hoping that Mississippians won't take the tornado threat less seriously because the previous forecast didn't pan out.
