San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy did some "light throwing" during Monday's (November 25) practice after being ruled out for Sunday's (November 24) loss to the Green Bay Packers, head coach Kyle Shanahan said via the Athletic's Matt Barrows.

"Kyle Shanahan said that Brock Purdy did some 'light throwing' today and that everything went well," Barrows wrote on his X account.

Purdy was ruled out due to an injured shoulder that continued to bother him on Thursday (November 21), but the decision to rest him reportedly helped, according to Barrows.

"When Brock Purdy's shoulder continued to bother him on Thursday, the 49ers decided to rest his arm. The rest helped. He didn't have any issues in a very light throwing session today. The plan now is for him to rest tomorrow and to see how he is on Wednesday," Barrows wrote on his X account.

Purdy was replaced by backup Brandon Allen, who threw for 197 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 17 of 29 passing during Sunday's loss. Purdy has gone 22-9 in 31 starts for the Niners during the past three seasons, which includes throwing for 2,613 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 202 of 306 passing in 2024.

The Niners will face the Buffalo Bills in a road matchup on Sunday (December 1).
